Apple TV+ may not be anyone’s go-to streaming service, but they have managed to book some top-notch talent for some interesting series like Mythic Quest and The Morning Show.
One of Apple’s upcoming series is called The Big Door Prize which is based on the novel from M.O. Walsh, and we have our first trailer starring Chris O’Dowd. Check this out:

Based on M.O. Walsh’s novel of the same name, The Big Door Prize tells the story of a small town that is forever changed when a mysterious machine appears in the general store, promising to reveal each resident’s true life potential.
The Big Door prize book had released back in 2020 to great reviews, and Apple had announced that they would be pushing forward with a series in 2021. We don’t know how different the series is going to be from the film, but so far, it looks like the basic premise is all there, with the citizens of the small town suddenly fawning over the mysterious machine that is revealing to them their potentials.
It’s a bit of magic realism that should be interesting to watch for anyone who hasn’t picked up the book. O’Dowd has definitely evolved from his early I.T. Crowd days, and I’m excited to see him take on a role that looks a bit more dramatic and introspective.
The Big Door Prize premieres on Apple TV+ on March 29.
