Cancelled Halo Series is a Hit on Netflix Apparently

There was a lot of hype surrounding Paramount’s Halo series, but the show just didn’t manage to get any traction and it was cancelled after two seasons.

The series was just recently syndicated over to Netflix, and surprisingly, it managed to pick up a huge viewership. According to ScreenRant, Halo has managed to gather 4.2 million viewers, culminating in 32.1 million hours watched. The series managed to land at No. 4 of Netflix’s Top 10.

Back when Halo came out on Paramount+, reviews for the show were divisive to say the least. People who had played the game weren’t happy with how the series tried to shake things up and tell its own story; while people who were unfamiliar with the franchise liked what they saw and were disappointed when it was announced that the series was cancelled.

For now, some fans are hoping that Netflix eventually picks Halo up for a third season, but if you ask me, it’s better if they just go for a big-budget movie with all the big production bells and whistles. If they can manage to spend 300 million on The Electric State, a completely new property, then they might be pulling a safe bet with Halo which is an iconic pop-culture franchise.

It should be able to scratch that sci-fi itch for fans while they wait for Zack Snyder to make more of his Rebel Moon movies. Are they even making any more?

Catch Halo now streaming on Netflix.
