While Borat 2 was already a huge hit for Amazon Prime Video, fans just know that there was a lot of footage that didn’t make the final cut. Now Amazon is set to release all that extra footage with the release of Borat Supplemental Reportings Retrieved From Floor of Stable Containing Editing Machine.
Watch the trailer for Borat Suplemental Reportings down here:
As you can imagine, some of these gags were probably deemed too offensive or maybe they just didn’t fit the narrative that the movie was trying to sell. You can even see the footage of the Sacha Baron Cohen dropping character and just try to keep his trailer door closed after he incites anger from a white mob (with guns, mind you). You can watch him go back to his original accent and say, “Just keep going cause if you stop, you are going to be in a violent situation.”
Though Borat 2 wasn’t as great as the first movie, the sequel still attempts to be culturally relevant and reveal the inner biases of people—specifically Americans. If anything, there’s a lot of heart when it comes to the growing relationship with Borat and his daughter Tutar, and while their country is still backwards, the real message of the film is quite wholesome.
While I don’t expect a third movie very soon, these ‘supplemental recordings’ should be just as fun to watch as the sequel. Maybe we can expect Cohen to bring the character back once things start getting back to normal.
No release date has been announced for Borat Supplemental Reportings Retrieved From Floor of Stable Containing Editing Machine, but we can likely catch it on Amazon Prime Video sometime within the year.
