We’ve been getting some new reveals for the upcoming Shazam! sequel, but let’s not forget that the movie about his nemesis, Black Adam is set to come out earlier. The film has been in the middle of production for the past few months, and now Dwayne Johnson has revealed that the movie is set to wrap this week, and we have a new image of him on set.

We don’t have a look at Johnson in costume yet, but we can already see how hard he’s trained to get fit for the role. Heck, his body is always jacked that at this point, everyone was probably starting to think that was his natural state.
A plot for Black Adam is yet to be revealed, but it will likely be a prequel to Shazam! which will show Adam gaining the powers before Billy Batson was chosen by the Wizard. Besides Adam, the film is also set to introduce a bunch of other DC heroes like Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Cyclone (Maxine Hunkell), and Hawkman (Carter Hall).
With the Rock essentially playing the same character in all of his previous films (i.e., a muscle-bound family-friendly man), it would be great to see him embrace the anti-hero role of Black Adam. Though The Mummy Returns gets a lot of flak, I remember enjoying the Rock’s performance as a villain in the film, and it would be great to see him play someone more stoic and serious in Black Adam.
Then again, that’s just my opinion.
