Bill Burr Directs and Stars in Upcoming Film, Old Dads

Bill Burr may have a played an irritable dad in Netflix’s F is for Family, but with that show ending, he’s now set to direct his first movie with the upcoming film Old Dads.

The movie is set to release in October, and Netflix has just dropped a new trailer featuring Burr, Bobby Cannavale, and Bokeem Woodbine. Watch this:

Here’s the official description for the film:

Three best friends (Bill Burr, Bobby Cannavale, Bokeem Woodbine) become fathers later in life and find themselves battling preschool principals, millennial CEOs and anything created after 1987.

The series also isn’t just about the three being dads; the story is also said to involve the three selling their company to a millennial CEO, and thus they’ll have to navigate the new company culture without having to offend anyone.

If you know anything about Burr’s stand-up, he’s kind of made it his brand to poke fun at the hypocrisy of ‘woke’ culture, but that’s not to say he’s completely against it. If anything, Burr definitely speaks the mind of the current middle-aged generation, and though he is old school, he still tries his best to keep up with all the changes in PC culture and try to offer a voice for anyone who might not get it.

Personally, I love Burr’s material, but I don’t really know what to expect with him in the director’s chair. I wonder if Louis CK had any advice for him.

Watch out for Old Dads when it starts streaming on Netflix on Oct. 20.
