Rumors have been going around weeks ago about the next Avatar series following The Legend of Korra, and while fans have been making heads or tails about which is true, it looks like a lot of the rumors were actually right.
As per Variety, Nickelodeon has official greenlit Avatar: Seven Havens which will follow the story of the Avatar after Korra. The 2D-animated series is said to run for 2 seasons for a total of 26 half-hour episodes. Here’s the official description:
“Avatar: Seven Havens is set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm. A young Earthbender discovers she’s the new Avatar after Korra – but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity’s destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization’s last strongholds collapse.”
The description pretty much lines up with the leaks that have released earlier, including the destruction of the Four Nations into Seven Havens, and Korra being at the center of an event that almost destroys the world.
If the rest of the rumors are correct, then the story will be following a new avatar named Pavi who is even younger than Aang in the original series and is a paraplegic with a metal leg (which she can alter with metalbending). It’s also unclear, but rumors suggest that both twins are the Avatar, but it’s also possible that only Pavi is the Avatar and her twin is just a powerful bender.
Leaks keep coming…

ATLA original creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko had this to say about the incoming series, “When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later… This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters. Get ready to take another epic and emotional adventure!”
Admittedly when the leaks first came out, there was a lot of pushback from fans that didn’t like the thought of the Four Nations from getting destroyed, but with DiMartino and Konietzko, it does seem like they want to reinvent the story whenever the Avatar reincarnates—which I absolutely love.
They should have them work on something like Star Wars if they’re free enough down the line.
No release date has been set for Avatar: Seven Havens.
