Just in, Emma D’Arcy announces the start of production for season 3 of HOTD, and she’s dressed in her full Rhaenyra garb. Check this out:

We don’t know exactly what to expect with the next season of House of the Dragon, but rumors have been going around that Season 3 will adapt four major story events from the book Fire and Blood. It’s not clear what those events will be, but book-readers know that there are several key events that transpired in the Targaryen Civil War—from fantastical dragon battles to sides getting betrayed by comrades—all the juicy Thrones drama that people love about the franchise.

Admittedly the second season had received some flak from fans and author George R.R. Martin himself when it came to what the show had chosen to adapt and scrap from the original story; but I do think that the series as itself has been pretty solid so far, and the spectacle episodes including the Battle at Rook’s Rest and the Red Sowing have been nothing short of spectacular.

I just hope that showrunner Ryan Condal manages to constantly deliver with Season 3 because it’s honestly exhausting having to hear from nitpickers who try to make every little thing about the House of the Dragon series sound like the biggest problem.

At this rate, it looks like the next season of HOTD is going to come out in 2026.

John Boyega Calls Out Racist Star Wars Fans https://www.geekfeed.com/john-boyega-calls-out-racist-star-wars-fans/ Thu, 03 Apr 2025 11:17:15 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87151 We know that there’s a new Rey Skywalker movie incoming, and a lot of fans are curious if John Boyega would be making a comeback as Finn.

With Boyega’s experience making the Sequel Trilogy though, he has come out to voice his irritation at the toxic SW fandom. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Boyega says, “They’re okay with us playing the best friend, but once we touch their heroes, once we lead, once we trailblaze, it’s like, ‘Oh my God, it’s just a bit too much! They’re pandering!’… Lemme tell ya, Star Wars always had the vibe of being in the most whitest, elite space. It’s a franchise that’s so white that a Black person existing in [it] was something.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoiRJnr-rtU

Though Star Wars does have its black characters like Lando Calrissian and Mace Windu, Boyega does say that the original and Prequel films were still pretty behind when it came to inclusivity. Boyega continues:

“You can always tell it’s something when some Star Wars fans try to say, ‘Well, we had Lando Calrissian and had Samuel L. Jackson!’ It’s like telling me how many cookie chips are in the cookie dough. It’s like, they just scattered that in there, bro!”

Admittedly, Star Wars under Disney has tried to be more inclusive—which has not been met with the most rational reactions by toxic fans. If anything, Star Wars/Disney has started getting criticism for not protecting its actors from social media backlash. Besides Boyega, actresses like Daisy Ridley and Kelly Marie Tran have been bullied off social media; Obi-Wan Kenobi actress Moses Ingram was also met with a lot of online hate for her Inquisitor character.

Should Boyega come back onboard, I would love for his Finn character to get a proper arc, but should the backlash come, Disney should already have a system in place to go up against the toxic fandom.

Jason Momoa Confirms He’s Returning for Dune: Messiah https://www.geekfeed.com/momoa-confirms-hes-returning-for-dune-messiah/ Thu, 03 Apr 2025 10:52:07 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87158 Jason Momoa had played Paul Atreides’ mentor Duncan Idaho in the first Dune movie, but his character is eventually dead by the time the credits roll.

With Denis Villeneuve getting the go signal for a third movie, fans have been wondering if that means Duncan Idaho comes back, and Momoa confirms it. In a recent interview with TODAY, Momoa was asked about Dune 3, to which he replies, “I’m not sure if I’m going to get in trouble or not, it’s the same thing like Game of Thrones, you know what I mean? If you didn’t read the books, it’s not my fault, right?… I’m gonna be coming back. I’m making a comeback. You heard it first…”

For context, here’s a look at Momoa in Dune:

Though Duncan may have died, he does come back in the form of a ghola (a kind of clone) named Hayt who is given as a gift to emperor Paul Atreides.

Interestingly enough, Hayt also has kind of a romance with Paul’s sister Alia (Anya Taylor-Joy), and it’s possible the film could explore that.

With the change in Chani’s character by the end of Part Two though, it does look like Villeneuve is going to change some elements of the story to further drive down the point that Paul eventually destroys himself in becoming the Emperor.

While a lot think that Frank Herbert is constantly misinterpreted in his message with Dune, it does seem like Villeneuve wants to make it more clear that Paul is not a hero to aspire to like Luke Skywalker or Rey.

Dune: Messiah is set to come out on Dec. 18, 2026.

The White Lotus Scrubbed a Trans Subplot Because of Trump https://www.geekfeed.com/the-white-lotus-scrubbed-a-trans-subplot/ Thu, 03 Apr 2025 10:26:31 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87154 Though the story of The White Lotus has always been more self-contained, there are some moments where the show has some commentary on current social issues—like the three blonde friends figuring out that one of them is a Trump supporter.

As it turns out, the Trump thing also managed to cut one particular subplot about Carrie Coon’s character Laurie. As it turns out, she was supposed to have a child that identified as nonbinary.

Talking to Harper’s Bazaar, Coon explained, “You originally found out that her daughter was actually nonbinary, maybe trans, and going by they/them… You see Laurie struggling to explain it to her friends, struggling to use they/them pronouns, struggling with the language, which was all interesting.”

Though it wasn’t a major scene in the series, Coon thought that it explained why Laurie was so offended when it was implied that Kate voted for Trump. Coon continued:

“The season was written before the election. And considering the way the Trump administration has weaponized the cultural war against transgender people even more since then, when the time came to cut the episode down, [showrunner Mike White] felt that the scene was so small and the topic so big that it wasn’t the right way to engage in that conversation.”

Following the series, it does come out that Coon’s character is the most fleshed out one among the three women, but there is also some surprising depth to Kate (Leslie Bibb) and Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan).

It’s not clear how things are all going to come to an end in the finale, but everyone is hoping that Laurie comes out alive.

Catch new episodes of The White Lotus Season 3 Sunday Nights on Max.

The Last of Us: Joel’s Therapist Cut From Season 1 https://www.geekfeed.com/the-last-of-us-joels-therapist-cut-from-season-1/ Thu, 03 Apr 2025 09:21:38 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87092 Joel spends most of The Last of Us being emotionally closed off, and it all comes to a climax when he goes on a rampage to save Ellie at the end of the season.

With Ellie and Joel living in Jackson though, Neil Druckmann says that it was the perfect time to give Joel some help with his mental health—which was an idea they actually had for the first season. Druckmann explained to THR (via @TheLastofUsNews):

“That was a Craig Mazin idea from the previous season, Joel was going to see a therapist inside the Boston quarantine zone. For a bunch of different reasons, it didn’t work out for that season; and now that Joel and Ellie have settled into Jackson, we really wanted to make Jackson a character—this sense of community, and it felt like, ‘Oh, a therapist could be part of Jackson.’ It’s something actually everyone would need in the apocalypse after the trauma they’ve experienced.”

They didn’t just make the therapist character a random entry either. Druckmann reveals that she’s also the wife of Eugene, a character from the game who was dead by the time Part II starts, but will be given an expanded role in the series. Druckmann continues:

“We had some ideas for this character, we found a way to tie her into the lore of The Last of Us because she’s Eugene’s wife—this character that comes from the game; and then we got so lucky by getting Catherine O’Hara to play this role and play it brilliantly.”

It’s unclear how much of a role Catherine O’Hara will have in the episode, but it’s possible that she’ll have an expanded story because Eugene is also said to get is story expanded—not unlike Bill and Frank from the first season.

With The Last of Us show taking so many liberties yet staying true to the source material, I can’t wait to see just what kind of spin they would have on Part II.

The Last of Us Season 2 premieres on Max on April 13.

Live-Action W.I.T.C.H. Series Being Discussed https://www.geekfeed.com/live-action-w-i-t-c-h-series-being-discussed/ Thu, 03 Apr 2025 04:47:49 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87112 The 2000s was filled with all kinds of original Disney Channel content like Totally Spies and Martin Mystery, but one series that managed to be a hit was the French-animated W.I.T.C.H. series which was based on an Italian comic of the same name.

Trey Callaway had been a consulting producer on the original series, and in a recent interview with Radical Retro Rewind, he confirms that there have been meetings at Disney to develop a live-action version of the series. Callaway explains:

“A dear writer friend of mine… has been a part of a series of meetings happening at Disney right now about a live-action reboot of that series.”

Callaway didn’t go into any specifics on the status of the meetings, but he does say that Disney is looking to revisit properties which have extensive world-building that allow for multiple stories to be created–and WITCH definitely fits into that category.

For context, WITCH was a series originally created by Elisabetta Gnone, Alessandro Barbucci, and Barbara Canepa. The comic followed five teens —Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin—who are granted elemental powers and given the responsibility to protect the realm of Kandrakar, the center of the Universe.

The comic ran from 2001 to 2012, and the animated series managed to adapt 26 episodes and ran from 2004-2006. The series may not have gotten the same highs as some other Disney properties, but it was pretty huge for its time, and it definitely still has a cult following.

As a fan of the comic, I’d rather they just reboot the animated series, but there’s definitely a lot of room there for a fantasy teen drama. Let’s just hope it fairs better than Netflix’s stab at a live-action Winx adaptation.

A live-action W.I.T.C.H. series has not been officially announced.

Steven Yeun Joins Animated Avatar: The Last Airbender Movie https://www.geekfeed.com/yeun-joins-avatar-the-last-airbender-movie/ Wed, 02 Apr 2025 02:44:18 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87108 Besides Netflix’s live-action Airbender series, Avatar Studios is also working on an animated film that will feature an adult Avatar Aang. The movie promises to bring together a different cast from the original series, and they’ve just nabbed a major star to join the movie.

According to Variety, Steven Yeun has joined the cast of the Last Airbender animated movie. No details have been revealed as to whom Yeun will be playing in the movie, but Legend of Korra fans know that Yeun is the original voice of the first Avatar, Wan.

We don’t know what the story for the movie is going to be yet, but knowing Avatar and all its spiritual mumbo jumbo, it’s possible that Aang will also try to find some kind of connection with Wan. Maybe the villain could even be someone that Wan has personally clashed with—making them a major threat.

Besides Yeun, the movie also has a cast which includes Dave Bautista, Eric Nam, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, and Roman Zaragoza.

It’s not clear when Avatar Studios is going to give fans a first look at the movie, but if it’s aiming for a release in January of next year, it’s possible we could get a trailer around August. Maybe they can also drop a preview for the next Avatar series following Legend of KorraSeven Havens.

The Avatar: The Last Airbender animated sequel film is set to release in theaters in January of 2026.

Cosmic Invasion: Marvel’s Retro Beat-Em-Up Promises Start Roster of 15 Characters https://www.geekfeed.com/cosmic-invasion-marvels-retro-beat-em-up/ Tue, 01 Apr 2025 06:08:58 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87104 Retro beat-em-ups may seem like a relic of the past, but Dotemu had managed to bring them back successfully with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. Now the same developers are going to be applying the formula to another well-known IP.

Check out Marvel’s Cosmic Invasion:

A cosmic battle awaits!

After Annihilus has launched an unprecedented attack across the galaxy, all life hangs in the balance. Nova, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Phyla-Vell, Captain America, and many more heroes, both earth-born and cosmic, will join forces in a star-spanning brawling adventure against the deadly Annihilation Wave.

From New York City to the depths of the Negative Zone, the future of the universe will be fought across the stars in MARVEL Cosmic Invasion!

Just like the retro format, Cosmic Invasion is also embracing a pixilated retro aesthetic, and some of the moves even harken to other Marvel games from the 90s—specifically the ones from Capcom; it’s as if Marvel vs. Capcom just became a beat-em-up instead of a fighting game.

Though seven characters were introduced in the trailer, it’s said that the game is expecting a total of 15 playable characters on launch. Miller Ross teases:

If the Marvel vs. Capcom roster is going to be a hint, then fans should expect characters like Iron Man, Hulk, or Doctor Doom to show up. Not to mention the X-Men also feature heavily in those games, so maybe there are plans for classics like Gambit, Rogue, Magneto, and Cyclops to make an appearance.

No specific release date has been announced for Marvel Cosmic Invasion, but the game is expected to launch later this year.

Scooby-Doo Live-Action Series Coming to Netflix https://www.geekfeed.com/scooby-doo-live-action-series-coming-to-netflix/ Tue, 01 Apr 2025 04:40:32 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87096 The Scooby-Doo cartoon gets revamped every few years for young audiences, but there have also been attempts to bring back the characters in live-action—but they’ve never managed to get to the same high as the James Gunn movies of the 2000s.

Just in, Netflix has announced that they would be working on a live-action reimagining of Scooby-Doo, and here’s the official post:

“In this modern reimagining, old friends Shaggy and Daphne team up at summer camp with scientific townie Velma and the strange but handsome Fred to solve the mystery of a lonely lost Great Dane puppy — who may have witnessed a supernatural murder.”

It’s worth noting that writers Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg have each been behind some hit kids’ movies over the past years. Appelbaum had written the Michael Bay TMNT reboot, and Rosenberg has worked on Venom and the new Jumanji films—which should give an idea of what tone fans can expect from the new Scooby-Doo.

Though a lot of people like to trash on Velma, I thought that it was an interesting big swing for a property that’s constantly reinventing itself. I have a feeling that this new Scooby is going to be closer to Riverdale, but maybe it could have that Stranger Things mystery tone that’s not as horny, but still full of mystery and intrigue.

So far, not release date has been announced for Netflix’s Scooby-Doo series, but hopefully it comes out later this year.

Potter Reboot Taps Nick Frost to Play Hagrid https://www.geekfeed.com/potter-reboot-taps-nick-frost-to-play-hagrid/ Mon, 31 Mar 2025 09:25:40 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87088 The Harry Potter reboot may be looking for unknowns to play the new trio of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, but the series is going to be casting some well-known actors for the part of the adults with a new Hagrid finally named.

The movie had already found a Dumbledore and Snape, and now Deadline is reporting that Nick Frost (Star Wars: Skeleton Crew) is being eyed for the role of Hogwarts groundskeeper Rubeus Hagrid.

Should Frost land the part, he would be joining a cast that already includes John Lithgow (Dumbledore), Paapa Essiedu (Snape), and Janet McTeer (McGonagall). For now, it does look like the series is concerned with casting the faculty, since they will be appearing as regulars in future seasons.

Besides the Hogwarts staff, the series would also have to think long-term in casting the Dursleys, the Weasleys, and other recurring characters like the Malfoys and Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge. It will probably be a while before they start casting for members of the Order of the Phoenix.

For now, a lot of fans are extremely sceptical that the series will manage to finish the whole story again. With the original movies so well-regarded, it’s said that the series reboot is still going to keep most of the aesthetics (and even the music) the same in order to make sure the theme parks and merch are still relevant.

I was personally in the camp of just expanding the world, but seeing as how Fantastic Beasts just fizzled out in the box office, it looks like the execs wanted a sure hit that mines on fan nostalgia—which worked out so well for the Star Wars universe.

No release date has been set for the Potter reboot, but it does seem like they’re aiming for a 2026 premiere.

Special Look at A24’s The Legend of Ochi Highlights Practical Puppetry https://www.geekfeed.com/the-legend-of-ochi-highlights-practical-puppetry/ Mon, 31 Mar 2025 06:18:20 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87083 Practical effects may be seen as a dying art, but you bet any cinephile is going to eat it up whenever it’s used in a movie.

A24 is going to be exploring fantasy-adventure territory with their upcoming film The Legend of Ochi, and a new look has been dropped highlighting the puppetry used to bring the character of Ochi to life. Check this out:

“As we were shooting, you could see all five puppeteers standing around in plain clothes, and if you looked at the puppet, you were like, ‘That’s a real living thing,’” explains writer/director Isaiah Saxon.

By the looks of it, it does seem like Ochi is going to be a practical puppet, and there’s also going to be adult members of its species that could also be puppets or maybe just grown people in costumes.

Though A24 is best known for their more mature, cineaphile-targetted movies, Ochi looks to be a kid-friendly fantasy adventure. “There’s a slow dial that gets turned up towards fantasy and magic over the course of the film,” says Saxon, “Growing up I felt that the deepest mysteries were found in nature, and I hope to share that same feeling that anything is possible.”

The film definitely does harken to that ET/Where the Wild Things Are vibe, and it also helps that Stranger Things Finn Wolfhard also has a role in the film. Willem Dafoe’s character also looks like a kook, and that’s kind of the best roles for him that are pretty fun to watch.

The Legend of Ochi is expected to hit theaters on April 25

Bam Margera Appearing in the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Remake After All https://www.geekfeed.com/margera-in-tony-hawks-pro-skater-remake/ Sat, 29 Mar 2025 10:20:38 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87075 With his recent firing from Jackass and several online scandals, it was understandable why Bam Margera would be removed from the remake of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4; but as it turns out, Tony Hawk himself wasn’t going to have it.

According to The Nine Club podcast (via VGC), it’s been revealed that Margera was going to be appearing in the game after all. The show’s co-host Roger Bagley explained:

“Well, here’s what happened… The game was already done. Tony called up Activision and was like ‘hey, we’re putting Bam in the thing’, and they were like ‘hey, we can’t’.

“He goes ‘no, you’re gonna do it’, and basically made them fly Bam back out there to get body-scanned and everything else, and get him back in the game.”

Margera and Hawk had been friends for a while via their pro skater status, and Margera had been a regular fixture in the games since Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. Though he had only been a side character for most of it, his Jackass and Viva La Bam fame had led to him being one of the co-leads for Tony Hawk’s Underground 2 with the World Destruction Tour campaign.

Though Margera had seen quite the fall ever since he was fired from Jackass Forever, it does seem like he’s been cleaning himself up lately, and he’s also been sharing some videos with Hawk of him skateboarding again.

Margera’s glory days may be over, but it’s nice that Hawk can still help out a friend who is on his way to recovery.

Watch out for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 when it launches for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 4|5 on July 11.

Malcolm in the Middle Revival to Recast Dewey https://www.geekfeed.com/malcolm-in-the-middle-revival-to-recast-dewey/ Sat, 29 Mar 2025 10:18:18 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87072 Malcolm in the Middle had ended back in 2006, and almost 20 years later, the series is going to get a short revival featuring almost all of the returning cast members—save for one.

Deadline reports that Erik Per Sullivan, who had played the third Wilkerson child Dewey will not be returning to play the role. Sullivan had reportedly quit acting way back in 2010, and now the part will be played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark, who admittedly looks the part.

Though Dewey has been recast, original cast members Christopher Masterson (Francis) and Justin Berfield (Reese) are going to be coming back to reprise their roles. They’ll be joining a cast which includes Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, and Jane Kaczmarek.

For context, Malcolm in the Middle was a hit sitcom back in the early 2000s which focuses on Malcolm, the middle child of a dysfunctional American family. Malcolm is incredibly smart, but his family is shown to have constant struggles with poverty, and it doesn’t help that Malcolm’s brothers are also kind of dumb in their own way.

Besides Frankie Muniz, the show was also a platform for Bryan Cranston to become one of TV’s most beloved dads. It’s insane how a few years later he would blow everyone away by becoming drug kingpin Walter White in Breaking Bad.

The revival will only fun for four episodes, but hopefully it gives fans a nice update on where the Wilkersons will be after all these years.

No release date has been set for the Malcolm in the Middle revival, but it’s expected to come to Disney+ sometime soon.

“I’ve Lost Interest”: Ben Affleck Looks Back at His Batman Era https://www.geekfeed.com/ben-affleck-looks-back-at-his-batman-era/ Sat, 29 Mar 2025 10:13:50 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87069 A lot of fans will stand by Ben Affleck’s version of Batman from the DCEU, and while some still think the multiverse will allow him back, Affleck says he’s pretty much done with the character based on his terrible experience working on him.

In a recent interview with GQ (via Variety), Affleck shares:

“I am not interested in going down that particular genre again, not because of that bad experience, but just: I’ve lost interest in what was of interest about it to me. But I certainly wouldn’t want to replicate an experience like that. A lot of it was misalignment of agendas, understandings, expectations…”

Besides playing Batman for the main DCEU, Affleck was also set to direct his own movie before deciding that it was all too much of a hassle with all the studio drama. That being said, he does admit that maybe some of the blame should go his way. He continues:

“…  And also by the way, I wasn’t bringing anything particularly wonderful to that equation at the time, either. I had my own failings, significant failings, in that process and at that time… in terms of why I had a bad experience, part of it is that what I was bringing to work every day was a lot of unhappiness. So I wasn’t bringing a lot of positive energy to the equation. I didn’t cause problems, but I came in and I did my job and I went home. But you’ve got to do a little bit better than that.”

Affleck’s last chance playing Bruce Wayne was in the Flash movie that eventually flopped. While a lot of people did bash the film mainly for Ezra Miller, I definitely thought the story had a lot of heart, and Affleck’s Bruce Wayne had a good sendoff—if you could call it that.

It’s a shame that Affleck had a bad experience as Batman, but he could be rest assured that his version is one that has thousands of fans backing it; and hopefully he gets a change of heart in the next few years.

New Data Suggests Star Wars: The Acolyte was Actually The Most In-Demand Show https://www.geekfeed.com/the-acolyte-was-actually-the-most-in-demand-show/ Sat, 29 Mar 2025 10:11:17 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87066 A lot of Star Wars fans were disappointed when it was announced that Disney+ had cancelled The Acolyte after one season, and a lot of anti-woke fans saw this as an absolute win on their part.

While some are slowly accepting the series may not be coming back, new data suggests that there is actually a lot of fan demand for a second season, and it may be one of the most successful series to come out on Disney+ when it did.

According to Parrot Analytics (via @swholocron), The Acolyte was in demand in the US 20.4 times the market average in the past 30 days. As it turns out, the only series that have been able to make those numbers were held by 2.7% of the streaming service’s shows.

Back when news of the cancellation had come out, there was already a strong #RenewTheAcolyte movement online; but some were saying that the cancellation meant that it was because the series had cost a lot of money, and it wasn’t worth the returns that Disney+ was reporting.

Even if that was the case, there was nothing but great things being said about the show, and it did deliver on the Prequel era lightsaber action that has been missing from series like The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.

We don’t know what Disney is going to do with this information, but it does seem like more things are getting cancelled now unless they’re a Stranger Things-level hit. Fingers crossed The Acolyte 2 gets the greenlight anyway.

Catch the first season of The Acolyte now streaming on Disney+.

Spider-Man 4 to have a Female Villain? https://www.geekfeed.com/spider-man-4-to-have-a-female-villain/ Sat, 29 Mar 2025 10:08:40 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87056 It’s been a while since No Way Home has come out, and everyone is waiting for Tom Holland’s next outing as  Spider-Man Peter.

While Marvel Studios and Sony are cooking, rumors are going around online surrounding possible plot points for the film. One of the latest ones to come from @MyTimeToShineH is that the next main villain could be a woman this time. Check out the post:

While no further details have been revealed, the source also says that Sadie Sink isn’t playing the main villain, so it’s possible that she could just be another love interest for Peter Parker; though it’s doubtful that she could be the ‘real’ MJ Watson like some would suggest.

As for the female villain, a lot of fans are assuming that it could be Black Cat. Though she did have some kind of fling with Peter in the comics, it has been said that she is more in love with the Spider-Man persona and not Peter—which made the pairing ultimately doomed.

Personally, I’m up for a genderbent version of any classic villain that hasn’t been presented in the MCU yet like Doc Ock or Lizard; but I also wouldn’t be opposed to Dakota Johnson returning as Madame Web just to be some kind of other mentor figure for Peter.

After the highs of No Way Home, fans are worried that Sony will just want to keep milking the multiverse concept to death. Hopefully we get something street-level again soon to really come back to the roots of the MCU Peter Parker like with Homecoming.

Watch out for Spider-Man 4 when it hits theaters on July 31, 2026.

Ncuti Gatwa is Back for a Second Season in New Trailer for Doctor Who https://www.geekfeed.com/ncuti-gatwa-is-back-new-trailer-for-doctor-who/ Sat, 29 Mar 2025 10:06:55 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87052 With Sex Education ended, Ncuti Gatwa has jumped into the world of Doctor Who for the BBC. His run as the Doctor had started in 2023, and now he’s ready for a second season with a whole new companion in the form of Varada Sethu.

The series premieres on April 12, and a new trailer has been dropped promising another crazy adventure with the Doctor. Check this out:

Though Gatwa’s Doctor was supposed to be partnered up with Millie Gibson for a while, they only managed to last for one season before Gibson had to leave the show. Now Sethu is taking over as new character Belinda Chandra, and it looks like she’s going to be having some very experimental stories with the Doctor this time—including an animated one.

Though there are some that testify that one Doctor is better than the other, each Doctor from David Tennant to Jodie Whittaker have their own fanbase who started the series when they were kids. It’s kind of like He-Man or Ninja Turtles that the property gets rebooted every few years so that a new generation of children can fall in love with the franchise.

It’s a bit silly as an adult to try and have strong opinions on Who because it’s honestly just a sci-fi show aimed at children with occasional historical hijinx and crazy low-budget aliens.

I do have to say though, it’s pretty cool that they got a way for Gatwa to just put on different outfits every episode because it might have been a pain to just keep him boxed into one outfit for his entire run.

Doctor Who premieres on the BBC and Disney+ on April 12.

2nd Trailer for Andor 2 Builds to the Clash in Rogue One https://www.geekfeed.com/2nd-trailer-for-andor-2-builds-to-in-rogue-one/ Sat, 29 Mar 2025 10:05:38 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87048 If ‘Jon Favreau’s Action Figure Hour’ isn’t your flavour of Star Wars, Disney+ has something more mature with Tony Gilroy’s Andor.

The series is set to release its second and final season, and the latest trailer is more on the traditional side (compared to the first trailer which had more upbeat rock). Check this out:

While the trailer is very vague on where things will go in the series, everyone knows that it’s all pointing to the events in Rogue One. Director Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) is going to make his appearance in this series, and it’s also been confirmed that Saw Gerrera is now in his partisan base in Jedha (the same planet from Rogue One).

It also looks like Andor and Luthen are falling deeper into their Rebellion hole, and it’s possible that Luthen is gearing up for something more terrible to happen so that people will finally stand up and fight against the Empire. By the time Rogue One starts, Andor is actually one of the more morally corrupt soldiers, so maybe this series is going to end with him fully embracing that role and making the sacrifices for the greater good—something he eventually gets out of by the end of Rogue One.

As a Last Jedi enjoyer, Andor was one of my fave series to come out on Disney+. Emotionally it’s very powerful, and the themes are very solid. We don’t know if there’ll ever be another show like it, but I’m hoping Lucasfilm has more space for it in the future.

The second and final season of Andor premieres on Disney+ on April 22.

Marvel Rivals vs. Capcom: Fanart Imagines Capcom-Themed Skins for Rivals Characters https://www.geekfeed.com/marvel-rivals-vs-capcom-with-capcom-themed-skins/ Sat, 29 Mar 2025 10:03:38 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87044 Marvel vs. Capcom is probably one of the most celebrated crossover properties of all time, but with no Marvel vs. Capcom 5 in sight, some fans have been curious about NetEase picking up the slack with a MvC crossover with Capcom.

Though no deal has been made, artist @jaeon009 has shared some mock-ups online, and they may as well get paid by NetEase for these because they look marvellous. Check these out:

The list of characters include:

  • Black Widow – Jill Valentine (Resident Evil)
  • Captain America – Captain Commando
  • Venom – Nemesis (Resident Evil)
  • Iron Fist – Ryu (Street Fighter)
  • Star-Lord – Dante (Devil May Cry)
  • Hela – Morrigan (Darkstalkers)
  • Rocket Raccoon – Viewtiful Joe
  • Peni Parker – Tron Bonne (Mega Man)
  • Winter Soldier –  Nathan Spencer (Bionic Commando)
  • Iron Man – Mega Man
  • Jeff the Land Shark – Servbot (Mega Man)

The last mainline entry in the MvC franchise, MvC: Infinite, came out in 2017 and  was considered a moderate entry at best. With a lot of time since that release though, Marvel vs. Capcom is primed for a comeback, and the successful release of the collection recently is supposed to give an idea of how popular MvC still is when it comes to the gaming community.

Going back to Marvel Rivals though, it’s still unclear what the devs have planned for the future after Season 1, but a collab with Capcom could definitely work. Heck, it can fill up a whole season if they really wanted to.

Marvel Rivals is now available for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5.

One Piece Showrunner Exits to Deal with Mental Health https://www.geekfeed.com/one-piece-showrunner-exits-for-mental-health/ Sat, 29 Mar 2025 10:01:20 +0000 https://www.geekfeed.com/?p=87041 Netflix had a reputation for pretty bad anime adaptations with Death Note and Cowboy Bebop, but they managed to pull off a decent series with One Piece which came out back in 2023.

Production is already completed for the second season, but the series has gotten caught in a snag as they have lost their co-showrunner Matt Owens. Here’s the announcement he posted on his IG:

While some think that this could be Owens quitting the show, his statement does read like he would come back after a break. We don’t know exactly how long that would take, but if he would be quitting post-production, it probably means that things aren’t going that smoothly behind-the-scenes.

Admittedly, Netflix hasn’t always seen eye-to-eye when it comes to creatives. Most famously, original Avatar creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko were developing the live-action Airbender series, but they ended up quitting due to creative differences.

Could the same kind of clashes be happening behind-the-scenes of One Piece?

Whenever news comes out that a showrunner leaves their series, fans are always worried about what that means for the show. Until Netflix makes an official update on One Piece, fans are just going to have to wait and see what that means for the quality of the live-aciton series.

Despite the success of Season 1, a lot do admit that the show wasn’t perfect, so maybe a few changes could be beneficial this time around. Despite being the lead, the series did have to gold back on showcasing Luffy’s powers, and I was hoping the second season would show some more fantastical abilities onscreen.

No release date has been set for One Piece Season 2.
