Arcane to End with Second Season; New Trailer Dropped

Audiences were completely blown out of the water when Arcane released on Netflix, and everyone is currently excited for the return of Vi and Jinx in the second season. Too bad though, because the show is expected to end there as well.

In an official announcement from Arcane co-creator Christian Linke, it’s been confirmed that the show is going to end with the final season. League of Legends fans shouldn’t worry though, because that doesn’t mean that the world of Runeterra won’t be further explored.

“The story of Arcane wraps up with the second season. Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey, and our partnership with the wonderful animation studio in Paris called Fortiche…We’re currently working on our next projects across television and film, and we’re hopeful we can share more by the end of the year.”

Here’s the new trailer:

Though it’s definitely going to be disappointing that we’re not going to be seeing more of fan-favorites like Vi and Jinx, we do have a lot more to look forward to when it comes to the overall world.

There are multiple characters from League of Legends that won’t be able to appear in Arcane, but this way writers will be able to tell more stories across the shared lore without worrying about stepping on the toes of the first two seasons.  Plus, writers won’t be forced to drag out the stories between established Arcane characters saving us the trouble of falling out of love with them.

I’m sure fans will feel better about the decision when Arcane 2 drops and we get a look at the other spinoff shows.

In the meantime, we’ll just have to wait for Arcane Season 2 to come to Netflix on this November.
