Chris and Leon are Back in Trailer for Animated Resident Evil: Death Island

A lot of fans may be excited for Leon Kennedy to make his re-debut in the Resident Evil 4 remake, but he’s set to come back to the spotlight with the CG-animated Resident Evil: Death Island.

Just in, we have a new trailer for the movie, and it showcases Leon, Chris Redfield, and Jill Valentine. Check it:

The official synopsis reads:

D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers, when a mysterious woman thwarts his pursuit. Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is investigating a zombie outbreak in San Francisco, where the cause of the infection cannot be identified. The only thing the victims have in common is that they all visited Alcatraz Island recently. Following that clue, Chris and his team head to the island, where a new horror awaits them.

The movie is actually the fourth film in the animated Resident Evil series, with the first one being Resident Evil: Degeneration (2008) and the second being Resident Evil: Damnation (2012). 2017 saw the release of the last movie, Resident Evil: Vendetta, but 2021 delivered a miniseries called Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness.

With the live-action movies not really embracing the overall tone of the games, it’s said that the animated films are much closer to aesthetic and feel as the Capcom titles; though it can be said that they feel like very long cutscenes for the games.

I guess there’s just no pleasing everyone.

Resident Evil: Death Island is set to come out sometime this summer.
