It’s finally here. After an entire January of anticipation, we finally have our first look at Lucasfilm’s Solo: A Star Wars Story. And if you thought one teaser wasn’t enough, Lucasfilm has actually given us two previews for the movie chock-full of great footage.
Check them out:
The first preview was shown as an ad for Super Bowl 52, and was supposed to be short for the “full” teaser which came out today on Good Morning America. The shorter teaser actually has footage unseen in the longer clip, and we get looks at what looks to be an Imperial recruitment facility and a beaten-up Han behind a screen.
As for the full teaser, we get some good looks at Emilia Clarke’s character as Qi’Ra as well as Donald Glover as the new Lando Calrissian. We see him in what looks to be a den where Han and Lando will gamble for the Millennium Falcon; and speaking of the Falcon, the teaser ends with what looks to be the Kessell Run.
Besides that, we also get some glimpses of other characters like Woody Harrelson’s Beckett, as well as Thandie Newton’s Val, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s droid character L3-37. Beckett seems to be gathering people for a heist, and it looks like Han will be joining the ranks along with Val, Lando, and Qi’Ra. Let’s not also forget Chewie.
Reception for the trailer has been overwhelmingly positive, and a lot of worries have immediately been soothed. Let’s hope the movie’s as good as the previews make it.
Solo: A Star Wars Story comes out May 25.
