A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead Drops Terrifying Story Trailer

The world of A Quiet Place continues to grow over the past few years, and after the successful launch of Day One in June, we now have a new story trailer for the upcoming first-person game, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead.

Check this out:

The official description of the game reads:

Prepare to survive the end of the world as Alex Taylor. With nothing more than your wits and the tools you scavenge, you’ll have to overcome the many treacherous challenges and obstacles that lay ahead – all without making a sound.

Though sneaking around is expected to be a huge chunk of the game—what with the aliens (or Death Angels)  that only track sound—it’s unclear how the game is going to be handling combat. First-person would suggest that The Road Ahead would mainly be a shooter, and there are guns in the game; but I expect players will be forced to carry around weapons that don’t make a sound.

Based on the trailer, it also looks like there are environmental elements that would mask the sounds from the Angels including sprinklers and rain. If anything, it could be taking a leaf out of The Last of Us’ book where it’s a tight narrative that has players going through specific setpieces in slightly open maps.

I’ll admit, it’s impressive that A Quiet Place has managed to last this long in the public consciousness, and the franchise only seems to keep evolving. I just hope they don’t adapt it to the ground like what happened with the Terminator films.

A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is aiming to launch for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S sometime this year.
