5. Doctor Fate
Fate defines what it means to be a legacy character, and there are literally too many to name and explain why one should be chosen over the other. So we won’t do that, whichever iteration of the character used would be fine, though Kent V. Nelson, grand-nephew to the first Doctor Fate of the same name, is perhaps the most famous.
The character is a powerful sorcerer who can do nearly anything a magic user can: use telekinesis, become invisible, fly, teleport, phase through objects, manifest a force field, cast illusions and constructs… the list could continue on for pages.
At first glance, he sounds like an amalgamation of two characters we’ve already seen in Injustice — Zatanna (whose father has donned the Helmet of Fate) and Green Lantern. However, he’s far more powerful than the both of them combined. Because his character is one meant to battle chaos and preserve order in the universe, he could also offer an interesting angle in the narrative for Injustice 2.
